Hey Spartans! What a great come back today during the 1st game to pull the win out. It was awesome to see you all pull together and fight back! We're so proud of you!

GAME 1 - Win 17-13

We came along slow in the first game but the bats came alive and defense stepped to pull out the win 17-13~

Brandon 0-1 with 3 walks, scoring 3 runs; Nick 2-2, 1 double, 1 RBI and 2 walks, scoring 4 runs; Eric 2-3 with 1 walk, scoring 3 runs, 2 RBI's; Jared scored 1 run, SAC Fly, 1 RBI; PJ 3-3 with 1 walk, 3 RBI's, scored 2 runs; Philippe 1-2 with 1 walk, scored 1 run; Aaron 1 walk, scored 1 run; Jeremy 1-3 with 1 RBI, scored 1 run; Kyle 1-2 with 1 walk, scored 1 run.

PJ, great heads up base running on that crazy play at the end of the 5th inning. Way to listen to your coaches and run the bases scoring another run on what was an exciting at bat!!!

GAME 2 - Win 4-3

Game 2 was a too close but you were able to get the win!

Congratulations Eric for pitching the entire game and holding them to only 3 runs!!! Way to go!

Livan pitched a great first game with PJ finishing out the game. Great Job!

9/27/08 vs. Weston Hawks

Today was absolutely a fantastic day of Spartans Baseball!! Congratulations on winning both games of our double header! Everyone played wonderful! Sorry we didn't have pictures today but here's some highlights of the game!

Game 1

WIN 27-5
We scored 27 runs!!! AMAZING!!!
Eric pitched a brilliant game with 7 strike outs and allowing only 2 hits. PJ came in and finished off the game with 2 strike outs and allowing only 1 hit! Way to go Eric & PJ with your dominating pitching!!!
Brandon 2-2 (with 2 walks) No runs scored on passed balls as catcher!!
Nick 3-4 (with 1 walk); Jared 2-5 (with 1 walk); Eric 2-3 (with 2 walks); Philippe 2-5 ; PJ 4-4; Livan 1-3 (with 1 walk); Kyle 1-3 (with 1 walk); Jeremy 0-1 (with 3 walks)

Game 2

WIN 8-2
Another amazing win!
Philippe pitched the entire 5-inning game with only 72 pitches thrown, 3 strike outs and allowed only 2 runs scored. He definitely kept the Hawks on their toes with his incredible change up!! Way to go 44!!
Congratulations to Michael for his screaming Home Run to Right Center Field in the bottom of the 5th inning! WOW!!
Nick had a nice double play at second base to end a scoring threat in the top of the 3rd inning.
Brandon made an incredible throw from Left Field to Jeremy at home to put an end to another scoring threat in the top of the 5th inning. What a throw!!
Fantastic defense all the way around!!!

Todays game was very good. Sorry about the loss but we almost had them beat!! 12-11 isn't bad at all...we beat them before, we'll beat them next time!

Directions to Cooper City for tomorrows game:

The address of the park is 10500 Stirling Road, Cooper City, FL 33026. It is located on the SW corner of Stirling Road and Nob Hill Road (Palm Avenue). Take I-595 to Nob Hill Road. Go South on Nob Hill Road about 4.5 miles to Stirling Road. Make the right on Stirling heading west, and make the first left you can make into the park. When you get into the park, turn left and the field we play on will be the first field you get to, just to the left of the main entrance to the park. You'll park in right or right-center field.

When you are going down Nob Hill Road, you will come to a large intersection with Orange Drive on the North side of the New River Canal and Griffin Road on the South side. There is a double red light there. Just proceed straight through the light and you'll have about another 1.2 miles to get to Stirling Road.

Saturday was a good baseball day...we split 1/1 with the Canes and that was good. They're a tough team and next time, we'll take both games!!!

Plantation Tournament 9/7/08

We had a great 1st game against the Miami Thunder! Everyone hit and and everyone had their head in the game. Our 2nd game against Wellington Warriors wasn't as great but it was still a good game. We'll see all those teams in the regular season and I'm sure that now they know not to thake the Spartans so easy!!! We'll get them next time!!! Great baseball weekend Spartans! Keep up the good work! See you all next weekend!!!

Today was truly a perfect Baseball Game! The way you played together as a "TEAM" and enjoyed every minute of it was fantastic to watch. You all played with a tremendous amount heart and determination that can be an incredible example to every other team out there! Today was a perfect win! You guys really pulled it together, held each other together and pulled out a great win! It's always a great feeling sitting on the side lines watching you guys play but today was extra special. You overcame bad weather and a team that thought they'd walk all over you and you showed them who had more heart and determination! That's the way to play baseball. We're always proud of you no matter what happens but today, and I'm sure I can speak for all the parents and spectators in the stands, when I say we were honored to be cheering for you guys today! You played great and we can't wait to see you all play even better!!
